~Simply Engaged: Rachel & Matt~

Why hello there!

As I am watching the NFL playoff game of Hawks vs Redskins (go HAWKS!), I wanted to show you all my adorable couple that are getting married in SIX DAYS! Wahooooo!

Enjoy their story and engagement photos by the oh-so-talented Sunshine Charlie

Simply Engaged

I have said this before, but I just luck out and get to work with the BEST people.  Love them!

So here's a little more about the sweet couple
{Rachel & Matt}
. . .

Wedding Date: January 12th 2013
Wedding Location: Swiftwater Cellars

{How did you two love birds meet?}

"We met while in college at Central Washington University. We had a BLAST returning to Ellensburg with Nicole (our amazing photographer!) to take our engagement pictures! So much fun revisiting a city packed with so many cherished memories!"

{How did he pop the big question}

"I was heading to NYC for a work trip. After he dropped me off for my 7am flight, Matt circled the airport and hopped on a plane that took off just minutes after mine – I obviously had NO clue. While in the middle of my event that same night, I got a mysterious note that landed me in a town car by myself with no idea where I was going or what was going on. Long story short… I ended up in front of the iconic LOVE statue in the heart of New York City where I got the surprise of my life. Complete
with a video that included a message from my dad after Matt asked for his permission to marry me, Matt was there, down on one knee where he asked me to marry him. I said yes as strangers clapped and it began to rain."

(this shot is from the actual engagement! How sweet!)

A night, a moment, a surprise, I will NEVER forget!!"

(full story in Matt’s words is here)

{What is your fave date spot/activity}

"We love the city and our neighborhood of Ballard – good food, drinks and atmosphere are a quick walk away. One of our favorite date nights was buying last minute tickets to a Mariner’s game and enjoying hot dogs, beers and a summer night."

{What is your fave part about the wedding planning process}

"We have loved thinking and planning the little details. The things we hope our friends and family will walk away remembering. Throughout the process, we’ve always wanted to make sure our day represents us as a couple and each guest

leaves our wedding feeling like they were a part of

something really special."

{Advice for planning a wedding to other couples}

"Three things have kept me sane:

#1 Don’t stress! It’s a well-known fact that weddings bring out an interesting side of people. So, when things get weird (and they will!)
take it for what it is and don’t dwell on what you can’t control.

#2 Choose vendors that are not only great at what they do, but that you will have FUN with! Not only on your day, but throughout planning.

#3  Enjoy the planning process as a couple and make time to reflect on all of the excitement surrounding your day!"

{Three words Rachel uses to describe Matt}

{Three words Matt uses to describe Rachel}

"Compassionate. Selfless. Incredible."

{On my wedding day I am most excited about . . .}

{Rachel}
"On my wedding day I am most excited about getting all glammed up, having all of our friends and family in one room to celebrate and to party the night away as husband and wife!"
