Happy weekend friends!
Yes today I am covering a hugely popular topic in weddings these days . . .
The Candy Bar
Gone are the days of useless favors.
I mean who doesn't love some candy right?
The good thing is, your guests can pick and choose what they want to snack on.
Some people don't like to eat cake . . . so their dessert is some yummy treats!
What you need:
1) Jars/Platters
My favorite way to display the candy is in apothecary jars. They are just so elegant and fun in all different shapes and sizes. Make sure to use all different heights to add depth to your candy bar display
Also add in some fun cake pedestals, cute!
2)Candy
Here is where you really can have fun! Choose your favorite candies to share with your guests. Make sure to include a variety . . . some people love chocolate and some fruit
(if you are like me you love it all!)
For aesthetic purposes make sure the colors of your candy match your wedding decor. Having a white and blush pink wedding . . . look for candies in these colors. Having all kinds of fun bright colors? More choices for you!
My fave places to buy candy for wedding candy bars are
1) Candy Warehouse
2) Amazon.
Yes Amazon! Has some fun varieties of candy for affordable prices in bulk.
Make sure to have many options, I suggest around 9-13 different types to give a good variety and to fill out the display.
Although we are calling it a "candy bar" . . . feel free to add some fun desserts as well to add some more variety. Think mini cheesecake bites, doughnuts, cake pops, etc. Have fun!
3) Scoops, Prongs
You can get these easily. Beware: the plastic tongs tend to break so maybe if you go this route, buy extra?
4) Bags
This is really one of my favorite parts of the Candy Bar. Have fun with it! Having a laid back vintage or rustic wedding? Get paper bags and add your special touch through labels or a doily, etc. A little more playful/fun wedding?
You can find bags on Etsy that are in fun designs such as polka dot, chevron
or stripes.
Feeling crafty? You can create your own design and print on your own bags (tutorial here), or stamp and emboss something fun on them!
I have seen a lot of:
"Love is Sweet"
"Sweet Love"
"Thank You"
"Love Sweet Love"
"Thanks for making our special day Sweet"
Etc.
Be creative!
5) Signage
Yet again another favorite part. Make a cute sign, write on a chalkboard, make a banner, whichever matches with your overall decor.
ALSO make sure to label your candies, you can even add cute things such as "Groom's favorite: ____" etc. Anyway to personalize your candy station will make it stand out! Tie a coordinating ribbon around the jar and put the label on the ribbon in front. Simple yet super cute and then your guests won't have to guess what things are.
To tie in to your wedding theme, decor, etc. feel free to add any decor elements you want.
A fun linen on the table
A vintage farm table
Candles
Flowers
Vintage props, crates
"Bling"
Manzanita tree or Curly willow branches.
There are so many options.
I promise you if done right this not only will be a huge hit at your wedding, but it will make for some amazing photos!
