~Wedding Color Schemes: Mint Green~

I have been dreaming of mint chocolate chip ice cream . . .
and every time I think of my childhood favorite ice cream flavor, I think about how adorable the color is.

How fun would it be to style a mint green wedding, and have a midnight snack of mint chocolate chip ice cream cones . . . just saying!

Ok maybe overboard, but that's what us planners dream of you know?

Some mint wedding yummy-ness:

~Fern Wedding Love~

Ferns

Woodland. . .
Whimsical, organic, natural.

I am loving these as decor elements in weddings . . .

There's just something natural and simplistic about ferns
(and budget-friendly!)

I have some in my back yard :)

~Bridesmaid Dress Perfection~

Hurray for sunny Fridays!
The weather is amazing out here in Seattle today . . .
it's my birthday weekend . . .
Life is pretty amazing!

To top this amazing-ness off, I found the cutest bridesmaid photo that I am in love with:
What better option to give your bridesmaids than to pick their own dress in a certain color palatte? Each person has their own individuality, can get a dress in their own budget range, and to fit their body type.

So cute!

I wish I had done this for my wedding! Sorry guys:-)
At least I can help my bride's with theirs!

Are you a fan of differing colors and styles for bridesmaid dresses?

Enjoy your weekend!

~Earth Day and Your Wedding~

These days there are so many ways to
keep it "green"
at your wedding and help our planet from waste.
It's actually really easy and there are so many ways to
re-use and be creative for your wedding.

The impact of the wedding industry is undeniable. There are almost 2.5 million weddings every year in the United States alone. When you consider that the average wedding creates 62 tons of carbon dioxide and more than 400 pounds of garbage, they add up to a lot of waste! Luckily for the modern bride, going green is easier than ever before.

Green Invitations:
Eco-firendlyInvitations.com is a great source for earth friendly wedding stationary.

"Todays consumer can make an impact by simply using recycled paper or going the coolest way and using seeded paper that germinates when planted. Tree Free Paper are also unique since invitations are made with out any fibers from trees"

Eco-friendly Decor:
I was just browsing Craigslist for used wedding decor . . .
and seriously why buy new vases/centerpiece decor new when you can get it cheaper from someone that has previously used it?

Keep in mind that one of the huge trends in weddings is Vintage
So by renting some vintage furniture, decor, etc you will be stylish AND help our earth!

When you are planning your wedding, or any event,
keep these ideas in mind and just be creative.
Do your part!

Happy Earth Day Loves!

~Wedding Love: Lauren and Chris~

Once I saw these pictures on Pizzazzerie (here) I immediately fell in love.
The simple yet elegant greens and whites, so beautiful!

Taken by Aves Photographic Design in Colleyville, Texas.

Look on for some gorgeous photography:
One thing I love about this wedding is the small touch of moss throughout.

And the groomsmen rated the first kiss, awww!
Cute idea!

The bride was adorable, a great venue! The wedding elegant.
Another inspiring wedding that I love!

~Top 5 Wedding Trends for this year~

I found this the other day on Beauty Bridal.com, and am quite excited to see what exciting, cute details people come up with this year!
LOVE the whole "green wedding" idea.

#1
~Vintage touches~

One of the top wedding trends for the upcoming year is vintage and retro-inspired with a modern twist. What’s old is new. We’ll see:
  • vintage wedding dresses with cap sleeves
  • beautiful textures
  • ornate details
  • natural settings, including outdoor and backyard weddings
  • photo booths (actual and set areas with draped-cloth backdrops)
  • vintage photography

#2
~Eco-friendly weddings~
In 2011, we’ll continue to see more green, environmentally friendly weddings. Think second-hand and vintage wedding dresses, LED lighting, recycled paper invitations and programs, and food from local farms and providers. Charity donations will continue to be a popular option instead of traditional wedding favors, and more couples will be asking for donations to their favorite charity instead of wedding gifts.

#3
~Modern choices~

The contemporary, modern wedding will still be big in 2011. Brides are opting for non-traditional dress choices, such as: beautiful hues instead of the usual white or ivory; old shoulder instead of strapless; and short cocktail dresses (the little white dress) instead of a long gown. This trend will continue through décor, as well, with couples steering away from the customary 10-person round table and opting to mix table shapes and sizes. They are also incorporating bright and bold colors, cool lounge settings, and after parties; choosing cupcakes instead of a wedding cake; and letting color tie together the bridesmaids as they choose different styles of dresses.

LOVE the candy bar idea!

#4
~DIY weddings~

Do it yourself” is another wedding trend we’ll continue to see next year. Originally brought on by the economy, this trend is here to stay because it not only saves money, but also adds a special something to the big day. Personalized touches and little details are very important; couples are incorporating their favorite interests, hobbies, places and even sports.

#5
~Social Media Influence~

We’ll also continue to see social media play a part in the wedding planning process. Couples will keep guests informed through wedding websites and post updates about their excitement and plans on Facebook and Twitter. Posts such as “We booked the band today!” allow friends and family to feel like they are part of the planning.

Well there you have it! So if you are planning your own wedding, or attending some this year be ready for some fun!
